Trellis Foundation is pleased to announce a grant of $100,000 to Workforce Solutions Capital Area. This award will support the development of a new workforce and higher education data-sharing model so that community colleges and workforce boards can improve programs and career outcomes for students.

As the Texas population and economy expand, the challenge of connecting students and job seekers to the education and training for current and emerging occupations increases. This initiative aims to streamline how community colleges and workforce boards strategically connect their work to economic and job opportunities. This data-driven approach will ensure the continued development of a highly skilled and diverse Texas workforce.

“As the legislature considers college funding changes based on student outcomes, access to workforce data is urgent for our community colleges,” said Trellis Foundation’s Executive Director Kristin Boyer. “We are excited to support this timely and critical effort to equip communities with the tools to prepare students for success in the new global economy.”

The award to Workforce Solutions Capital Area is among more than $500,000 in new grants approved in March to support innovative pilot programs to improve postsecondary equity and student outcomes.
